I felt a little funny at the strange appearance of the place depicted in the postcard, which was dignified and chests out as if it were some special place.
The scenery in the postcard must be from some unknown foreign place. Is the place reflected in the postcard a landscape of personal memory or a landscape that can be shared with others? What kind of landscape can become a postcard?
I decided to blank out the important information about the landscape buildings to contain the postcard's function: to share personal memories.
ポストカードの中うつるその場所の、何か特別な何処かのように凛と胸を張っている余所行きな姿に少しおかしみを感じていた。ポストカードに写っている風景は、どこか知らない異国の場所であろう。ポストカードに映るその場所は、個人的な記憶の風景なのか、他者と共有できる風景なのだろうか。ポストカードになり得る風景とは何なのだろうか。風景にある建物という重要な情報を空白し、ポストカードの機能である個人的な思い出の共有を封じ込めることにした。
